Description: I have been experimenting with several methods to track student attendance, arrival time if tardy, and daily work productivity. I know it sounds nit-picky but this tool helps me track the daily progress, or lack of progress, of the students I work. This year I use a blank calendar template.
Analysis: Although a bit archaic, the calendar template allows me quick access to student information should I need to promptly speak with parent/guardain, or anyone else for that matter. Additionally, because of our small class size, with each teacher assigned a total of 18 students, I have the ability to devote time everyday to keep the calendar updated.
Reflection: The tool is really for myself, but it also serves as proof when conferencing with a student. I find it a convincing tool when a student disagrees with about attendance and/or work productivity. I also track and date credits earned.
